Civil and Environmental Engineering students have the opportunity to participate in several national or local organizations.
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Cornell Chapter
The American Society of Civil Engineers is a student group who invites members from among Civil Engineering majors to participate in community service events, engineering competitions, and other activities.

CEE Graduate Student Association
The purpose of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Graduate Student Association (CEEGSA) is to organize social and cultural events for graduate students as well as promote professional activities. The Civil and Environmental Engineering Graduate Student Association strives to foster communication between graduate students and provide a forum for the free exchange of ideas.
Chi Epsilon
Chi Epsilon is the National Engineering Honor Society in the United States. They honor engineering students who have exemplified the principles of "scholarship, character, practicality, and sociability" in the civil engineering profession. Instagram
Cornell Seismic Design Team
Cornell Seismic Design designs, builds, and tests a scaled multi-story balsa wood tower for an international undergraduate competition hosted every spring at the annual meeting hosted by the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI).
Engineers for a Sustainable World at Cornell (ESW): Biofuels
Engineers for a Sustainable World: Biofuels is a student project team at Cornell University that strives to improve campus and local sustainability through biofuels initiatives and implementation.
Engineers without Borders
Engineers Without Borders - Cornell is a group of passionate and highly motivated students who aim to create long-lasting solutions to problems in international communities. Members are given the opportunity to nurture their creative and technical expertise by designing and implementing sustainable engineering projects. Through collaboration with communities in developing countries around the world, our members are exposed to diverse cultures while gaining academic experience outside of the classroom environment.
NYWEA
The NY Water Environment Association is made up of seven (7) geographic chapters. Each chapter has its own Board of Directors, and carry out their own technical and social programs throughout the year. By joining NYWEA you are able to select three chapters to be affiliated with.
Society of Women Engineers at Cornell
The Cornell Student Section of the Society of Women Engineers promotes women in Engineering by advocating the importance of diversity and by uniting resources to encourage academic, leadership, professional, and personal excellence for the entire Engineering community of today and tomorrow.
