Environmental Teaching Lab
The Environmental Teaching Laboratory in Hollister Hall is a flexible facility designed for bench scale experiments and analysis of environmental samples and processes.
The facility hosts an automated water treatment plant design competition for upper level undergraduates, and a biocatalysis laboratory for graduate students.
The facility is equipped with:
Computers at each workstation for data acquisition and process control
Networked plug and play sensors including pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and pressure with remote monitoring capabilities
Microprocessor driven outputs for automated control of experiments including drinking water treatment plants, bioreactors, and anaerobic digesters for methane production
